Now I’ve seen a bunch of crazy things when it comes to children’s card games. Mainly because I’ve played nearly everything under the sun. From Star Wars, to Pokemon, to Magic: The Gathering, to even a wrestling card game. My main squeeze these days when it comes to TCG’s would have to be Yugioh, which I will now refer to as Yugi-mans. So in my attempts to keep up with the game while I am getting lost in the New-England countryside I come across another brilliant concept from Japan: Duel Terminals. Yes, Duel Terminals. For 100 Yen per play, you too can play Yugi-mans in an arcade setting. Here’s the catch though, you have use cards compatible with the Duel Terminal system. You can either purchase your own to use or you can use pre-made decks available at the Duel Terminal. They typically will have Duel Terminal written on the card below the picture and a sublte code on the picture as well. A little something like this:

Fancy Card Is Fancy

Now from my understanding, there are a couple of sets that have been released that have Duel Terminal Cards. The only way to get these cards though is to buy them in the arcade where you play, which limits the market considerably, especially considering that the majority of arcades in America are found in malls. Personally, I can see how fun this would be, minus the fact that the probabilities of having incredibly pricy packs to just play the game would be a put off. Especially considering that the majority of Americans don’t spend their time in arcades when gaming consols rule ‘ze world. And, as opposed to the 6 types of arcade boxes available in Japan, the U.S. has just one. Now I’d love to get my hands on one of these suckers, but I’m not sure about the rest of you.
That being said, it’s time to d-d-d ddddddd-go to the arcade.
